  • My typical client is an adult who is struggling or feels "stuck" in life. Many of my clients have depression, anxiety, trauma histories, or who feel trapped because of relationship challenges.

An ideal client will be curious and committed to the process of growth, healing, and recovery; they will be willing to invest time, energy, and effort despite inevitable struggles and setbacks.

  • For many therapy seekers, discounting the benefits and helpfulness of therapy prevents their own healing progress.

    People will say things like:

"My problems are not that bad."

"I'm not crazy. Only crazy people need therapy."

"It's embarrassing to need therapy at this point. I should be able to figure this out on my own."

"If I'm in therapy, that definitely means that there is something seriously wrong with me!"

This is something we hear often from many people who have felt pulled to therapy for a while but are not sure if they actually need it. If you have been going back and forth for a while on whether or not you need it, it might be worth it to try and give therapy a shot!

If you have ever felt anxious, depressed, overwhelmed, angry, stressed, dealing with relationship or family difficulties, difficulty with setting and enforcing boundaries, experienced trauma or a difficult life experience, struggle with imposter syndrome, or experienced grief, then therapy might be right for you!

  • Most often, clients meet with me on a weekly or every other week basis. As a new clients of mine, I strongly recommend meeting with me either weekly or every other week in the beginning and adjusting frequency as needed. Standard therapy sessions are scheduled for about one hour in duration (53-60 minutes).

The numbers of session in therapy treatment varies greatly depending on many factors including your presenting issues, your goals for therapy, and client and therapist availability. Some see me weekly for a few months and end. Others have been seeing me once a week or every other week for close to a year.

I can discuss decisions about frequency and termination or graduation at any time and provide my feedback or recommendations. The final say depends largely on you!

  • Sessions often begin with a recap on how you have been since our last session. My approach is strengths-based and person-centered, so I am ready to start where you want and discuss the issues relevent to your treatment goals.

Together, we craft your goals and then explore the ways to achieve those goals through tackling various action items. Sessions are often a mix of back-and-forth sharing (insights), education, and skill-building or guidance through exercises.

Most often, I will leave you with considerations to make, practices to try, or exercises to incorporate so you can be active in the healing process between now and the next time we meet.

This kind of holistic healing is a collaboration between us, and the best results often come as a result of the work you put in between our appointments.

  • Currently, all services are conducted both in-person and virtually. This is based on your preference with scheduling as well as the time slots I have available.

Sessions are conducted via HIPAA-compliant video meeting platform / video call.

  • Yes. Whatever you share with a counselor is protected by law, with some exceptions of legal statutes (child abuse, harm to self, or others). Otherwise, personal information is not released unless you sign a release of confidential information (ROI).

  • No worries—call, email, or text me 24-hours before your session time if you need to cancel or reschedule. If you’re running late, let me know, and we’ll see what the options are.

Short of an actual emergency, the $75 is charged to the credit card on file for late cancellations or no-shows.

  • If you are receiving therapy services from me, then you can only receive therapy services while being physically located in Colorado. I am only licensed to be able to deliver ethical and legal therapy services in the state of Colorado.

  • At this time, I only work with clients on an individual basis. I do not offer couples or family therapy sessions. Working with individuals is part of my specialty. Couples counseling has very different dynamics and goals than individual therapy and requires specialized training.

  • No, I do not provide this service or write these letters for clients of any length. I believe this topic and matter is beyond my scope of practice.

Overall, clinicians who are asked by their clients to write letters or otherwise advocate for clients' use of emotional support animals, therapy animals, or animal-assisted accommodations are advised to consider whether the clinician has relevant training and/or experience to support such advocacy.
